BACK IN STOCK FOR FALL 2024!

Just in time for the crisp fall weather, our kkakdugi daikon radish kimchi is made and fermented in small batches. We’ve added Maine-grown apples for a touch of sweetness, along with onion, garlic, and ginger. As always, hand-harvested sea salt from Slack Tide Sea Salt gives it the perfect finish.

We’re very excited to be adding this seasonal kimchi to our lineup. For now, it’s only available in the fall and winter, when radishes are made even sweeter after the first frosts. Daikon kimchi goes really well with warming curries, filling soups, as a topping on rice bowls, or just straight out of the jar – we won’t tell anyone!

100% of our daikon, apples, and ginger in this kimchi are sourced from local Maine farms, making it even more special, as once we run out of local daikon, we’ll stop selling this kimchi. We’re very grateful to be featuring produce from Laan Xang Cafe & Farm (Belfast/Brooks), Daisy Chain Farm (Belfast), and Frith Farm (Scarborough), in addition to Slack Tide Sea Salt (York). For more info on all our local partners, visit our Partners page.

P.S. You might notice a strong smell when you first crack open the jar, and that’s totally normal. Fermenting daikon smells a bit stronger than fermenting cabbage. The smell should dissipate in a moment after opening.
